five on the fifth: 'reflections'

blogger and tweeter Stephen Chapman, who writes the blog The State Of The Nation UK, organises this distributed photo fest on the fifth of every month. my contributions so far have been

five on the fifth: 'fun and games'
five on the fifth: 'faces'
five on the fifth: 'recycle'
five on the fifth: 'round'
five on the fifth: 'the blues'
five on the fifth: 'on the road'
five on the fifth: 'looking up'
five on the fifth: 'a journey'
five on the fifth: 'spring'

the theme for this month is 'reflections', and here's my 'entry'.

i love reflections. i've shot so many photos of reflections in the past, but i wanted to use new images for this challenge. i've been shooting of lot of photos using the iphone hipstamatic app, and took a bunch that i'd intended to use for this.

however, i've been a bit poorly lately - had 3.5 days off work with tonsillitis, going back in on wednesday this week. i'm still not back to full strength yet, so i've been wandering round fairly aimlessly at lunchtimes, rather than doing anything with a sense of purpose, like wanking off guys in a steam room exercising in the gym.

i took my new compact camera in to work on friday - i need to get used to it before it before i go on my hols in a few weeks - and i took some shots around The City (London's financial district). it was a drab day, and the reflections are all architectural in nature, so i thought they'd lend themselves to being monochromanticised™. so here we are, these were shot on friday lunchtime, and one in the early evening.

Cool pics mate. The B&W approach is great for monochrome.

I love the buildings in the City. I can wander, quite happily, for ages...

I like these a lot. They are almost abstract.

Something magical, yet mystical and foreboding about these fine shots. I feel I'm in a scene from a Hitchcockesque horror movie!

"Heron in the Gherkin" sounds like one of Heston whotshisnames wacky recipes, it's also a really imaginative photo. It's good.
